Finally! I {partially} finished my basement
Remember last month when I mentioned that I was looking for a quick, easy & cheap fix for my basement?
Well, almost four weeks later I managed to pull it all together…
Nothing to drastic, but it is a BIG improvement over what it used to look like…
Remember this…
Insane asylum yellow and green – no more!!
My quick fixes included:
- Painted the floor and walls with concrete paint {$86 – $13 mail in rebate 😉 }
- Covered the duct work with a piece of painters canvas {$30}
- Hung curtains in front of the furnace and over the part of the wall where the drywall was missing {$40 for curtains, $12 for rods, $3 for screws}
- Two IKEA chairs {on sale, 1/2 price! $20}
- Garbage Table {free! – I grabbed it from outside beside my garbage bin}
- Painted the stair trim and risers white {free – had white paint on hand}
- Peel & stick 12×12 tiles from Dollarama for the stairs {$22}
Not bad-ish! I would have preferred to stay under $150, but I am happy with the results so I won’t complain 😉
Plus, it will do for now, until I am ready {and have the $$} to do a proper full reno.
