Project Grow Our Own Food: A Trip to The Home Depot

With our seeds planted, and soil & mulch ordered, ‘J’ and I have started to purchase some of the supplies we are going to need as we work on “project grow our own food.” A quick trip to The Home Depot yesterday (in the snow) proved successful as we were able to stroke a shovel and a rake off the list. I may have mentioned before that our lawn is in pretty bad shape; it needs a good rolling and seeding, so grass seed also made its way into our cart.

Quite a few of the 150 seeds we started have begun to make an appearance… including our tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, basil and parsley. With a plant date of May 4th, we hope to tackle building the raised garden beds next weekend – hopefully not in the snow!
